Remarkably, the highly anticipated development of AI began in the 1950s. After decades of research, it is finally at our fingertips in recent years. AI continues to evolve rapidly, with each passing day bringing new advancements. Today, its impact on our daily lives is significant, often without our awareness. We gain from this technology across various platforms, including healthcare, social media, entertainment, banking, security, and our everyday online activities
In our everyday lives, we face daily challenges in our tasks that can be frustrating and time-consuming. But look no further—below are ways to improve our daily productivity using AI-enabled devices as tools.
PERSONAL USE of AI
- Learning/DIY Project: Look no further to learn a new skill or gain knowledge on any topic. AI-powered chat tools are fully packed with resources to help you understand complex math problems and academic topics. They can also help you acquire a new skill. AI uses generative features to prompt the user. It interacts and asks for clarification. It acts more like a tutor with explanations and great examples on a chosen topic. Below is a snapshot of using AI ChatGPT to learn Python programming language. Other AI tools have these features like Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and more, giving you control of your learning experience.

2. Writing: AI is embedded in word processing applications. It is also found in writing tools/applications that help check for grammar mistakes. These tools can transform your writing into a more professional delivery. It simplifies everyday writing, like journaling, writing academic papers, composing blog posts, sending emails, and posting on social media. They make drafting notes and text messages much easier and more efficient. Examples of AI tools are Grammarly, ChatGPT, built-in Autocorrection on our devices, Microsoft copilot, Apple intelligence, and Gemini. Additionally, AI chat tools can be used as grammar check tools. Simply paste your work for quick word mistake detection. They can also be used for job interview preparation for a potential employer. This is common these days. 3. Search the Web: Searching the web has never been easier with AI’s access to large data. AI displays the exact answer to your search without unwanted information or distractions. Again, you can access information across a variety of topics. These topics can align with your interests. Simply type your questions into its chatbot.
4. Personal Health: The use of AI-powered wearable devices has revolutionized personal healthcare and lifestyle. They allow users to track fitness routines, blood pressure, and sleep patterns. They also help diagnose diseases. Examples of devices are smartwatches and Dexcom glucose monitors; overall improving your well-being.
5. Smart Home Devices: Some home builders are beginning to add Internet of Things (IoT) devices. These devices enhance living experiences, comfort, safety, and security. These devices have significantly improved with AI features that automate tasks and understand and respond to human voices and interactions. Examples include Siri, Google Nest, Amazon Echo, smart speakers, smart cameras, thermostats, and vacuum cleaners like iRobot.

AI has become widely integrated into nearly every aspect of our daily lives, and various industries and sectors. Many AI companies are still uncovering its full capabilities. Some notable benefits of AI include advancements in medical research. It also contributes to the development of smart cities. Additionally, it aids in fraud prevention, predictive maintenance, and application development. AI enables personalized marketing and improves customer experiences.
The power of AI is undeniable. But, it’s crucial to verify the accuracy of information from AI sources. Always apply critical thinking skills to evaluate information from AI tools and the web.
